Rules for Chapter Awards

In regards to the judging of the scrap books, the Lodge year runs Fall Fellowship until the next Fall Fellowship. Each chapter is responsible for sending one youth representative to the Chapter Awards committee. The Chapter Awards committee is composed of one youth representative from each chapter. The Chapter Awards committee is chaired by the Lodge Secretary. The meeting of the Chapter Awards committee is to be held at the Lodge Secretary and Lodge Secretary Adviser and Lodge Adviser’s discretion. The Scrap books are due at breakfast on Saturday morning of the Fall Fellowship. The Chapter Awards Committee will fill out a Scrap Book Score Sheet for each scrapbook that is submitted. The Chapter Awards will be awarded based on the scores derived from the Scrap Book Score Sheet. The Lodge Secretary Adviser is responsible for keeping all the previous year’s score sheets to be used in the future for the Chapter Awards.

Chapter of the Year will be determined by the Scrap Book Score Sheet. The Chapter with the highest numerical score will be awarded the Chapter of the Year Award. The score sheets are private until the Chapter of the Year Award has been announced. Then the score sheets can be made public upon request to Lodge Secretary Adviser and his discretion of reasonability of request.

Chapter of the Year Runner Up will be determined by the score sheets. The Chapter with the second highest numerical score will be awarded the Chapter of the Year Runner Up Award. The score sheets are private until the Chapter of the Year Runner Up Award has been announced. Then the score sheets can be made public upon request to Lodge Secretary Adviser and his discretion of reasonability of request.

Most Improved Chapter will be determined by the score sheets. The Chapter with the highest positive difference between the current years scrap book score, and the previous year’s scrap book score will be awarded the Most Improved Chapter Award. The score sheets are private until the Most Improved Chapter Award has been announced. Then the score sheets can be made public upon request to Lodge Secretary Adviser and his discretion of reasonability of request.

In the event of a tie, the tying chapter’s scrapbook score sheets must be revisited to ensure accuracy of the score. If tie still persists, the Lodge Secretary, Lodge Secretary Adviser, and Lodge Chief meet and reach a decision based on spirit and ideals of the Brotherhood in choosing the winner. Once a “winner” is chosen, the scrapbooks will be returned to each chapter and the Chapter of the Year and the Most Improved Chapter will be recognized at the Lodge Banquet.
